Let’s stop being fools, and fooled by, the Trump carnival…
All the media sources, be they major corporate outlets such as New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times USA Today, and of course the social media noise dispensers, believe they have most of us right where they want us. The carnival act is Trump and his minions (formerly referred to as cabinet members). The media sources constantly strive to keep us glued to the latest disaster action announcement, without trying to verify the truth of what they put out. So far, it has worked very well for them. And the blame for that is on of all of us.
I want to remind all of us why we should not be directing all or most or our angst and vituperation toward dilapidated Donny. He is simply being the feral animal he has always been, and none of us have any excuse for not being aware of that fact. He has not changed, unless getting worse qualifies as change. There has always been a the equivalent of a large city sewer full of verifiable facts about what a monster he is. If you have not educated yourself, shame on you.
Imagine an airliner full of passengers inroute to a destination, and there happens to be an orangutan in one of the seats. I know that sounds unlikely, but consider what is now occupying the resolute desk, and let’s keep going with this analogy. Somehow, the decision is made by enough of the flying tube occupants to put the orangutan in the captain’s seat to take over flight duties. Of course, the plane crashes and everyone dies.
Read this carefully…if you think this is the orangutan’s fault, you are a blithering idiot.
Any effort to deploy common-sense legal responses to the orangutan, or rather the current occupant, is pointless and will not lead to any satisfactory resolution of the current status. And that includes working hard to make the next federal election a course-correcting outcome. You didn’t want to hear that. I did not enjoy writing it.
Were you thinking SCOTUS might arise from its comatose state and save the nation? Think again. SCOTUS is mostly a cabal of puppets, and the likes of the Heritage Foundation, and people like Leonard Leo, etc. are the marionettes. Scratch this group off your hope list.
How about the US House and senate? Get real. They are who we should be directing our anger toward. They are responsible for what is unfolding today. They are the supposed guardians of the Constitution. During the campaign season when they were begging for your donations and votes, they were lying to you about their intentions.
House and Senate members may grouse among each other about not liking what is going on, but they claim they are representing the wishes of the voters in their district. I really doubt that, but even if that is their excuse, it is still a disastrous one. Their constituency is mostly misinformed and uninformed. The noise level of their sources has drowned out sources who are available to enlighten them. It is an important part of the responsibility of our elected representatives to be a source of accuracy and truth about what they are responsible for. There are no innocent parties here. Everyone is culpable.
I read an insightful quote recently that fits the axiom that when good people do nothing, evil takes root. The quote I am referring to is this:
“..If there are ten people sitting around a table and one of them is a Nazi, and no one says anything, then are ten Nazis sitting around that table.”
Go stand in front of a mirror for a moment and ask yourself if you might be one of those Nazis. Take your time. I will be right here…
Following is a letter I drafted to send out weekly, to not only my own house and senate members but also to any elected office holder whose email address I can access.
_______________
Notice to (Senator, Representative, Governor):
It is with a heavy heart and a great amount of disgust and disappointment that I feel obligated to write this notice to you.
I want you to know that I believe:
*You have disgraced America, the office you hold, all of the constituents you lied to when you promised to protect, serve and represent to them;
*You have disgraced and violated the Constitution of the United States;
*You have disgraced your family, your ancestors, your future progeny beyond repair;
*You have revealed yourself as a coward by your loyalty and refusal to reject the conduct of the current criminal president;
*You will be responsible for the unnecessary deaths of untold numbers of Americans due to the actions and policies of that criminal and his minions;
*You will be responsible for economic devastation and hardship visited upon Americans who do not deserve such malfeasance due to your lack of courage;
*You have repeatedly shown that you are willing to turn your back on countless Americans in pursuit of your own status, wealth and privilege;
*You have played a role in the degradation, possibly beyond repair, of the institutions you are obligated to humbly honor and serve.
I am only stopping this list of greivances I am directing toward you at this number because I want my message to fit in the space of one page.
It is my hope that your name will be permanently erased from the historical records of those who have occupied the office you now hold and have besmerched. I pray that the American people have learned, and will learn, to never again cast a vote for the likes of you. Hang your head in shame for the damage you have perpetrated upon this once great nation.
_____________
I will also send this out by regular mail to select members. Your postal friend and mine, namely DeJoy, is marching the price of stamps by one dollar each. I might be spending a little extra to send by registered mail demanding a return receipt. I am encouraging any and all of you to feel free to copy and use this letter if you feel it speaks your heart and mind.
Notice if you will, I refrained from any name calling or swearing. We know whose level we are stooping to when we do that.
Let’s divert our attention where it can be noticed and felt. Let’s not be silent any longer. Elected officials have for a very long time delivered what the people want and need only when the risk of not doing so is greater than the task. We are our own solution today. If we do not rise up and focus on the actual failure and breakdown, which is our homefront elected officeholders, we are in for a much rougher outcome than what you and I are able to imagine today.
Are you in?
